Another week of mixed weather, however this doesn’t appear to have detered the golfers with the course very busy with visitors and members playing their knockout ties.

On Tuesday the gents held their annual outing to the Cally Palace, Gatehouse of Fleet and twenty members played. The highlight of the day was a hole in one at the 170yard 2nd hole by Nevile White using a 5 iron. The winner on the day was David Nielsen who picked up the Astraseal Cup for his troubles. David is having a fine year having won some three trophies so far. Thanks go to the Match Secretary, Sandy Harvie, who worked hard arranging the day out.

Sunday saw the July Medal and 1st round of the Duguid Scratch Trophy. With the weather forcast being poor for the afternoon, most of the compeditors went out early. The winner on the day and his first ever Monthly Medal was Alex Long with an amazing scratch score of 2 under par 66, net 60. Alex is also leading the Duguid Trophy after the first round.

A reminder that the Gents Open 4BBB is due to be played on Sunday 24th July. To date we have only 7 entries. If members wish this competition to go ahead they should either add their and their partners name to the entry sheet in the locker room or let me know and I will do this for you.
