A few brave souls attempted to play last week until the rain drove them off on the fifth. This week 11 golfers played on a wet course with a wee shower early on but with increasing winds as the first storm Abigail started to brew. The winner this week was Dave Nielsen with 33 points, a 2 shot handicap reduction, and Terry Haine in second place with 29 points, gaining the place from Les Rogers by virtue of a better inward half. Glenluce:2015 Week 11

Twelve members managed to find a window of dry weather in a period of persistent rain. What a relief it was to have 3 fourballs where we could all have a match. The strong wind made club selection difficult for some. It did not hinder Nevile who had a superb 39 points, runners up on 34 points were Brian Porteous (18ih), Dave Nielsen (16ih) and Terry Haine (15ih). There was an agreed consensus that Nevile’s handicap be cut by 1.2 shots.   Player Points 1 Nev White 39 2 Brian Porteous 34 3 Dave Nielsen 34 4 Terry Haine 34 5…

Seniors League 4:2015

It was not a day to invite our Seniors onto the course. The light rain gave way to windy conditions making scoring somewhat difficult except for the man suffering from jet lag, namely Ian McCulloch scoring an incredible 38 points. Perhaps we should all spend the weekend in Toronto before playing. Last weeks winner Brian Duguid came second with 28 points beating Marena not on the second half, nor the last 6, nor the last 3 but on the last hole where Brian scores a par for 3 points.

Glenluce 2015 Week 8

Was today the last of the Summer Wine for 10 old codgers - it was a lovely dry day with a light breeze. The greens played havoc with putting over coring holes and top dressing. Nevile White won with a stomping 41 points and in his tail were Terry and Ronnie with 37 points, Terry having the better inward 6. The big winners of the day were Terry and Dave Nielsen who shared the accumulated £24 two's money, both getting a two at the 17th. Terry consolidated his lead in the points total and now stands with 21 points. Player Points…
