Glenluce 2015 Week 7

11 players played in the continuing good weather. The winner was Ronnie with 35 points, one more point than he thought owing to his  increase in  handicap  to 15 and so he scored 3 points rather than 2 points at the Eighth stoke 15 hole. Second was John Crallan with 35 points but beaten on the inward half. Putting was made difficult by the recent coring and the spreading of top dressing during the round. Prizegiving 2015

31 players played in a 3 person texas scramble this afternoon. The course was in great condition and the weather warm enough to play in shirtsleeves. The competition was won by the team of Alex Long, John Crallan and Brian Porteous. The new format for the prisegiving was a resounding success. All enjoyed their golf. An outstanding buffet was provided by members: ham, pork, salmon, chicken pies and pasties to mention a few followed by deserts to die for. The serious business followed with prizes presented by our president Elspeth Thomas.

Seniors League 2:2015

Well now, the mist cleared and it turned into a beautiful day. The course was in lovely condition and we are playing the summer course, yet nobody has broken par this season – what’s up! It was very pleasing to see Jeff back into winning ways (29 points) and Roddy coming second with 28 points and his handicap cut. (more…)

Glenluce 2015 Week 6

12 players turned out to day and so everyone could enjoy a fourball. It was slightly chilly to start with and warmed up for many to play in shirtsleeves. What a great period of weather we are having. Honours went to John Crallan with a superb 38 points. Brian Porteous followed with 36 points. Terry came third and is steadily piling up the points and leading with 17. The CSS was one above SSS. Seniors League 1:2015

What a start to the new season with a cloudless sky and the temperature soaring to 18 degrees or so. Shame about the golf as far as the men were concerned. The ladies demonstrated how its done. Erica Porteous won with 29 points closely followed by Marina with 28 points. The full result is given on the Seniors League Table in the menu above. Some clarification: The Ladies have an additional two shots added to their adjusted League handicap. The ladies also play two holes as par fives.
