Monthly News

Following opening day the club activities are going ahead at full speed. Our junior coaches are now active in both the local schools and on the course on Saturdays. The coaching is now aided by the purchase of 5 new sets of junior clubs which were funded by a generous grant from the Charity Shop in Dalry, The club is extremely grateful for this help with our junior programme. 18 Hole Trophy 2018 The postponed fixture was played to day in the start of spring weather as the sun shone for most of the round. The course was playing well and 13 players took part. Dave Aitken was victorious with a magnificent 36 points. Second was Jeff with 33 points. Prizes for the best nines went to Terry Haine and Dave Nielsen. Alan Walker Trophy Congratulations to our Secretary Ian Brown continues in unbeatable form taking all competitions in his stride. 16 players took part on a course that is starting to show signs of growth. Twenty Second Seniors League

Twenty Second Seniors League The golfer up there was looking after the Seniors this week and granted the only sunny day of the week. Perhaps the scores were not so hot but the winner on the day was Brian Porteous with 29 points, tying with Ian McCulloch, by virtue of a better inward 12 for the last 6 holes. New Galloway Golf Club – Monthly News

Last weekend with the weather still very cold but dry, 30 hardy members turned out to play on opening day. the competition was very fierce between the Captain's & Vice Captain's teams however with only one of the Vice Captains team providing him with a winning score the Captain's team galloped to victory. Following the match some superb soup &  sandwiches where provided in the clubhouse where everyone enjoyed a social occassion. Thanks go to everyone who provided food and made the day such a success. Twentyfirst Seniors League

Twentyfirst Seniors League There may be snow still on the hills but the weather was braw for the 12 players who took part in 3 four balls. I was fortunate to have Terry as a partner as he won with 31 points in a day of indifferent golf for the other three in the group. Dave Nielsen came second with 30 points and the other Dave (Aitken) third with a recalculated 28 points. Chris and ian McCulloch shared the fourth spot. Next week on the 5th will be a normal league. Opening Day

The season got off the a good start with the faintest glimmer of spring round the corner. Only one team scored for the vice Captain with a giant score of 6 up. The over all result was 6 up and congratulations to our captain Dave Aitken.
