A bright and early start on Tuesday to travel to Carlisle for our away day to Eden Golf Club. Very lovely it was too.
We had 4 groups of adventurous golfers…

We had a lovely 18 hole stableford in the sun. The course had bunkers (!), water (!!) and absolutely no gorse (swoon!)…

Treating myself to some new Calloways for the outing, I managed to lose 2 before even reaching the first green! Glad I did a quick revision on water hazards, sorry, red penalty areas, before we set off.
An impressive performance from Alison on her first ever 18 hole round. She alone managed to hold the green on the Nearest-the-pin challenge hole. As a result, she won a top prize. Erica romped home by a few clear points for first place overall (also making Chris’ day as she had Erica in the sweep). I scraped a second place (also making Gerry happy as she’d drawn me).
Commiserations to Janette who drew herself in the sweep but missed out on the chance to double up on the prizes!
The Lady Captain generously gave us all a prize (ball markers so we can improve our putting!)
And we finished it off with a fabulous lunch before heading homewards.
