Ladies Update: Muirhead Rosebowl Open

Today we welcomed more than twenty golfers for the re-scheduled Muirhead Rosebowl Open.   Early starters contended with rain most of the way round. But the dry weather turned out in time for some of the later pairs. As a result, the course played a wee bit 'tricky'. The CSS went up by 2 to 70.   To prove it was tricky, only one person made it round blob-free. Perhaps fittingly, it was the eventual winner. February 2019 News

With the new season drawing ever closer, Opening Day is Sunday 24th March, our ladies have been beavering away on the course trimming the gorse. Other work to make the course a little easier for our senior members is also ongoing with a new fairway area in front of the ladies 5th tee and some other parts of fairways being widened. At our last committee meeting it was also decided to assits the elder gentlemen members to continue to play in competitions we will now stop playing to the top green. June Monthly News

Well we all look for the sun and boy have we had it throughout June. The course is burning up and Brian & Ian are working very hard to ensure we stay playable. It has been a very busy month at the club with Captain's Day being the highlight. on the day the members were treated to a veritable feast of fun. May Monthly News

With this amazing weather and a lot of hard work the course and surrounding areas are in amazing condition. Thanks go to everyone who are working so hard to present the club in it's best condition. The junior coaching is going full steam ahead on Saturdays with upwards of twenty juniors turning up for the weekly coaching. The ladies competitions now being played on Wednesdays are in full swing. On a bright sunny morning with no wind nine wee mice made hay while the big boys were away. It was a great day for the ladies Chris winning with an outstanding 34 points followed by Marena on 30 points. Ian McCulloch third on 28 points and Erica fourth with 27 points.
